Interdistrict Attendance

arrow Previous bar Next arrow

The Governing Board recognizes that students who reside in one district may choose to attend school in another district and that such choices are made for a variety of reasons. The Board desires to communicate with parents/guardians and students regarding the educational programs and services that are available.

(cf. 5116.1 - Intradistrict Open Enrollment)

(cf. 5117.1 - Interdistrict Attendance Agreements)

(cf. 5117.2 - Alternative Interdistrict Attendance Program)

(cf. 5145.6 - Parental Notifications)

The Board recognizes that the district may be capable of serving additional students. Therefore, the Superintendent or designee may approve interdistrict attendance agreements with other districts.

For students enrolled in a school he/she does not have to reapply for an interdistrict transfer, and the governing board of the school district of enrollment will allow the student to continue to attend the school in which he or she is enrolled, except if the district of residence and district of enrollment agree otherwise.

A district of residence of school district of enrollment shall not rescind existing transfer permits for students entering 11 or 12 in the subsequent school year.
