The district shall offer a comprehensive, age-appropriate, K-12 HIV/AIDS prevention curriculum.
The district's HIV/AIDS prevention curriculum shall be part of a comprehensive health education program that teaches acceptance of personal responsibility and emphasizes healthy decision making.

HIV/AIDS prevention instruction shall be focused on giving students the knowledge, skills and motivation to avoid or reduce high-risk behavior that may lead to HIV infection.
The Superintendent or designee shall inform parents/guardians of their right to inspect all instructional materials related to HIV/AIDS instruction, and shall provide opportunities for inspection of materials before they are presented to students.

Staff members or others who present HIV/AIDS prevention instruction shall be adequately trained and have periodic inservice opportunities to remain knowledgeable of new prevention education techniques and new developments in the scientific understanding of HIV/AIDS.
