Participation in Co-Curricular Activities

In order to participate in school co-curricular activities in grades 7-12, the student must have a grade point average of "C" (2.00) for the last official grading period, plus no more than one "unsatisfactory" citizenship mark (U). If a student is ineligible at the last official grading period, the student is then on probation until the next official grading period. While on probation, a student may participate in co-curricular activities. If a student does not have a "C" (2.00) average at the next official grading period following probation, the student is ineligible to participate in co-curricular activities until the student achieves a "C" average (2.00) at any official grading period. Failure to meet the citizenship requirement of no more than one "unsatisfactory" citizenship mark (U) will cause the student to be placed on probation until the next grading period, during which time the student will be permitted to continue participation. Probation will be removed if the student has met and maintained satisfactory citizenship standards during the probationary period. If citizenship is still unsatisfactory at the end of the probationary period, the student will be disqualified immediately from further participation. Official grading periods are those for which the district report card is issued, including but not limited, to quarter, semester, and summer report cards.

When there is documentation evidence that a student has used, possessed or been under the influence of any type of alcohol, narcotics, hallucinogenic or controlled substances, the student shall be immediately suspended from all forms of participation for the duration of the season.
