Mental Health

The Board of Trustees recognizes that students' mental health is important to their overall health, well-being, and academic success. It is the policy of the Board of Education to incorporate social and emotional development into the district's educational program which shall be consistent with the social and emotional learning Guiding Principles developed by the California Department of Education.

Protocols shall be developed and reviewed yearly to respond to children with social, emotional, or mental health challenges that impact their ability to be successful. The protocols and administrative procedures will involve the following core components:

1. Burlingame School District will Adopt Whole Child Development as the Goal of Education

2. Burlingame School District will affirm its Commitment to Equity

3. Burlingame School District will Build Capacity in all staff to support students

4. Burlingame School District will Partner with Families and Communities

5. Burlingame School District will Learn and Improve
