Board Of Education Commendation Program

To encourage community involvement in district programs and activities, the Board of Education may give public recognition to individuals, businesses, and organizations in the community who have made outstanding contributions or provided unique or longstanding service to the district and its students.

The superintendent or designee shall establish procedures by which the board members, employees, or members of the community may suggest persons or organizations for board recognition. Honorees may be members of the district or community, who have contributed in a significant manner to education and/or the district.

In view of the many types of contributions and services offered by the community, recognition may, depending on the circumstances and at the discretion of the board, include a letter or board resolution, verbal recognition, a public ceremony, or an appropriate gift.

The board encourages similar forms of recognition for achievement or services as part of school-level commendation program.
