Differential Graduation And Competency Standard For Individuals With Exceptional Needs

Students enrolled in special education programs who have been identified by the district as being unable to meet the district's regular minimum proficiency standards because of the severity of their handicap, shall be provided with modifications in evaluatory procedures and/or in proficiency standards appropriate to the students' handicaps.

Commencing with the completion of the ninth grade, any such modification shall be included in the Individualized Education Program for each student who is or has been enrolled in a special education program.

Unless otherwise stated on his/her Individualized Education Program, a special education student will be expected to meet the school district's regular standards of minimum proficiency.
