Students shall not leave the school grounds during the school day without written permission of their parents/guardians and school authorities.

Criteria for consideration of approval of exceptions are as follows:

1. Will the off campus activity serve as a supplement to the regular school program?

2. Will the off campus activity provide a reasonable transition to full adult responsibility necessary for success in the post-high school years?

An annual exception for the La Canada High School grades 9-12 lunch period off-campus privilege may be implemented upon recommendation of the La Canada High School Principal, with approval of the Governing Board. Neither the School District nor any officer or any employee thereof shall be liable for the conduct or safety of any student during such time as the student has left the school grounds pursuant to this annual exception.

A report, evaluating off-campus lunch privileges, will be made annually to the Board by the La Canada High School Principal.

The privilege of off-campus lunch may be revoked from individual students for disciplinary reasons or because of failure to maintain academic eligibility for extracurricular activities.
