Apportionment of additional funds

Note: According to Education Code 56832 - Chapter 7. Funding of Special Education Programs (commencing with Education Code 56700) is inoperative on July 1, 1998 and repealed as of January 1, 1999. However, this Chapter as it existed on December 31, 1998, shall continue to apply until June 30, 2001, for the purpose of recertification.

Notwithstanding Section 56740 and 56775, the Superintendent of Public Instruction shall not apportion additional funds to districts or county offices on behalf of placements and services in nonpublic, nonsectarian schools and agencies reported by districts and county offices pursuant to Section 56742 if the increase claimed from one year to the next exceeds the percentage increase specified by Section 56723, or an in-lieu percentage specified by the Budget Act, unless the superintendent makes a specific and individual finding that a greater increase is warranted.
