Open Campus

The Board of Trustees establishes a closed campus at all district schools.

In order to give students an opportunity to demonstrate responsibility and positive citizenship, the Board of Trustees may establish an open campus at select district high schools in which junior and senior high school students may have the privilege of leaving campus during lunch. Eligibility requirements are based upon academic performance and attendance standards. The open campus privilege may be revoked for juniors and seniors who do not meet the eligibility standards.

The privilege of open campus may be revoked from individual students for disciplinary reasons.

Students shall not leave the school grounds at any other time during the school day without written permission of their parents/guardians and school authorities. Students who leave school or who fail to return following lunch without authorization shall be classified truant and subject to disciplinary action.
