Article definitions

As used in this article, the following terms have the following meanings:

(a) "Degree" means a degree awarded by any public postsecondary educational institution or any private postsecondary educational institution approved to operate by the Council for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education, accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education, or operated pursuant to Section 94702.

(b) "Duplicate degree tuition" means the tuition fee established pursuant to this article.

(c) "Governing board" means the Trustees of the California State University, the Regents of the University of California, the Board of Directors of the Hastings College of the Law, and the California Maritime Academy Board of Governors.

(d) This section shall become operative on January 1, 1997.
