California Fair Elections Act Of 2008; Fair Elections Eligibility

(a) No more than five business days after a candidate applies for Fair Elections benefits, the county registrar of voters in the county where the candidate files his or her declaration of candidacy shall certify that the candidate is or is not eligible. Eligibility may be revoked if the candidate violates the requirements of this act, in which case all Fair Elections funds shall be repaid.

(b) The candidate's request for certification shall be signed by the candidate and the candidate's campaign treasurer under penalty of perjury.

(c) The certification determination of the county registrar of voters is final except that it is subject to a prompt judicial review.
