A tenured faculty member who is eligible to retire and elects to participate in the Faculty Early Retirement Program shall file his or her election in writing with the campus president or president's designee no later than six months prior to the beginning of the faculty member academic year which would otherwise next follow the effective date of his or her service retirement. The president or the president's designee may waive all or a portion of this time period.
