Classroom Films

All movies shown in the classroom must be directly connected to course content and standards. Clips of films are preferred to feature length films in the classroom. The use of full length films as a class reward is discouraged. All films must be carefully previewed by the classroom teacher before being used for instructional purposes.

In elementary schools, rated G films can be shown. If a rated PG film is shown, teachers must receive prior permission from the principal (using the form below) and written permission from the parents of all students in the class.

In middle school, rated G and PG films can be shown. If a rated PG13 film is shown, teachers must receive prior permission from the principal (using the form below) and written permission from the parents of all students in the class.

In high school, rated R films may be shown if teachers receive prior permission from the principal (using the form below) and they notify parents, providing an alternative assignment for any parent who does not want their son/daughter to view the film.
