Homework in the district serves four (4) purposes:
1. To review and extend concepts taught at school.
2. To set expectancies of achievement.
3. To develop a sense of responsibility in students.
4. To provide practice in completing work outside of class to prepare students for high school and college.
Every teacher will have a written homework policy that is easy to understand and which explains the respective responsibilities of both students and parents. A copy should be on file with the principal. Teachers should communicate their policy to students and parents as clearly and as often as is necessary to ensure proper understanding of the teacher's homework policy.
The Superintendent will develop appropriate guidelines for implementation of this policy.
