Goals For The School District

The Board of Trustees shall adopt long-term goals for achieving the district's overall vision for its schools as well as clear performance standards and benchmarks which can be used to determine if the district is meeting these goals. Goals shall be limited in number so as to be reasonably achievable within established timelines.

The Superintendent or designee may establish short-term, interim objectives and comprehensive plans to ensure adequate, regular progress toward the district's long-term goals.

The district goals are:

1. Significant Student Achievement/Vision 900

a. Students will progress at acceptable and measurable increments to meet and exceed all standards.

b. The district will implement technology programs both for educational and operational services.

2. Positive Learning/Work Environment

a. The district will maintain a positive school culture and learning environment.

b. The district will provide a disciplined and structured environment.

3. Professional Development and Staffing

a. Continued and ongoing professional development is key to promoting significant academic and social achievement. The district will continue to provide resources and time necessary to achieve this goal.

b. The district will provide a system of shared accountability for student achievement with clear performance standards and accountability.

c. The district will continue to actively participate in countywide, state and federal initiatives, resources and services.

4. Parent Involvement/Community Partnerships and Communication

a. Encourage parents/guardians/caregivers to participate as equal partners in supporting their child's learning.

b. The district will expand lines of communication with families and communities within the district.

c. Collaborate with other public agencies and private organizations to ensure that children's physical, social and emotional needs are met.
