
The Governing Board provides transportation for eligible students in accordance with state and federal law. Transportation services shall depend upon student needs and a continuing assessment of financial resources, including district funds and state reimbursements.
The goals of the transportation service are:
1. To provide maximum safety for students between home and school and on school-sponsored trips.
2. To promote desirable student behavior and respect for traffic safety.
3. To provide assistance and transportation for handicapped students.
4. To provide transportation for field trips.
All school buses shall comply with inspection requirements specified in the Vehicle Code and administered by the California Highway Patrol.
The district may contract with a private carrier for transportation services whenever such an arrangement may be more economical. These services shall be with consultation of the Transportation Supervisor.
Transportation Distance
The following students may ride the school bus: Kindergarten and Grades 1 through 8 will be provided a ride to school if they live within the designated service areas adopted by the Board. The service delivery areas are established to maintain the safety of a student's route to school.
No adults without permission of Superintendent will be permitted to ride the school bus unless they are acting as a supervisor of children who are riding the bus.
Parent volunteers may be accompanied only by children participating in the activity or trip.
