
(a) Notwithstanding Section 60422 or any other law, for the 2002-03, 2003-04, and 2004-05 fiscal years only, a requirement that the governing board of a school district provide a pupil with standards-aligned instructional materials, as adopted by the State Board of Education subsequent to the adoption of content standards pursuant to Section 60605 for kindergarten and grades 1 to 8, inclusive, may be satisfied if the governing board of a school district provides a pupil with standards-aligned instructional materials that were adopted by the State Board of Education pursuant to Chapter 481 of the Statutes of 1998.
(b) This section shall be in effect only until July 1, 2005, and as of that date is repealed, unless a later enacted statute, which is enacted before July 1, 2005, deletes or extends that date.
